lyrics

I AM opening a space in my Heart, for the light of the Holy Guru's Truth,
I share to you the pure true glory of Sri Krishna,
Which bestows Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha,

In my awareness of knowing that I truly know nothing at all,
I intend my attention on Lord Krishna,
and I humbly ask for strength, wisdom, and truth, to relieve me of all blemishes bringing suffering,

Praise to you O'Krishna!
Your brilliance illuminates Trailokya!

Your are a true teacher of Leela,
A symbol for compassion, love, and playfulness,

Your flute enchants and uplifts all beings,
You bring joy and child-like play into their hearts,

Your Aura is blue, bright and radiant,
Your face is kind and welcoming,

Your love is open to all your devotees,
Your heart being all-encompassing,

Child of Devaki and Vasudeva,
Who was philosophized to end the rule of Devaki's brother, Mathura King Kamsa,

Which upon King Kamsa knowing this fate,
issued the imprisonment of Devaki and Vasudeva,

Born on a dark stormy night, on the midnight hour,
Who by miracle and grace escaped imprisonment with Vasudeva,

Who with blessings from Lord Vishnu, crossed river Yamuna,
by parting the river and having a shield of hooded serphants,

Who then was brought to a safe farm house in Gokul, India,
Where you grew up learning to heard cows and play your flute,

Whose foster-mother Yashoda saw the entire universe,
Including stars, planets, the land and sea of the Earth,

The days of yesterday and tomorrow, this very moment,
And even herself in your sweet child mouth,

Who at first accused you of eating dirt,
then became awestrucken and filled with peace,

O Lord Krishna, who would play his flute for all, to dance, sing,
sweet, pleasant melodies vibrating the air,

Whose favorite time space to play would be by the Yamuna River on Full Moons,
Who even drew the attention of Lord Shiva,

Who at the age of 15, was nominated as Yajamana, or leader of sacrifice for Lord Indra,

But upon the moment of sacrifice, using your wit and high sense of morals,
You questioned the fear-mongering practice,

You suggested instead to sacrifice in celebration over fear,
To give praise to all we can be grateful for,

Who would protect his villagers when rain came over Gokul,
By leading all into a cavern in Mt. Govardhana,

Who when seeing not all would fit, shifted the mountain by miracle and created ample space,

Who when looking out into the vastness of creation,
on top of Mt. Govardhana, realized your truth,

Which from coming down the Mountain that fateful day,
You were welcomed with bows, you knew there was more for you beyond your village,

Who before leaving Gokul, you gave your flute to Radhe,
confessing your love for her,

Sharing that your flute sings only,
Radhe, Radhe, Radhe,

Lord Krishna, who ultimately achieved your prophecy to end the tyranny of King Kamsa,
By beheading him with one swipe of Kamsa's own blade,

Afterwards you told the kingdom this is a time of reverence,
Not a time to celebrate, let us rebuild,

Lord Krishna, who came to Arjuna on the battlefield between Pandavas and Kauravas, where Arjuna felt uneasy and weak, upon seeing loved ones on the battle field,

Whose advice about the nature of the soul, yoga, service, morality, karma, and the attainment of liberation, gave strength to great Dhanajaya Arjuna,

Whose teachings echo'd into the holy text The Bhagavad-Gita,
and into the hearts of many devotees,

Most notably mentioning his Grace, Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who began to share the vision of Krishna consciousness with the West in 1965,

Who by your Grace, is continuing to share Krishna conciousness,
Through temples, books, publishers, online resources and more,

Lord Krishna, who is begginingless and endless,
Who is the knower, the knowable, the supreme abode,

You are encompassing, and thus are all,
You are the Father of the moving, and non-moving world,

All diseases pain, and suffering disappear at the recitation of your Maha-Mantra,
With your teachings, we have the tools of liberation,

Renunciation of all of our fruits, brings us to this moment, where we only have awareness,
the souls path is eternal, beyond karma,

Lord Krishna, who wears a peacock feather in your flowing cosmic twinkling hair,
Who wears an radiantly saturated exotic garland around your neck,

I acknowledge your true grace,
and I give praise to you in dearest and deepest reverence,

In practicing your main virtue,
I AM playfully creating you this Chaleesa,

To share with you, and my community of people, locally and non-locally,
spanning into all of space-time, forwards and backwards,

I AM Grateful for your Grace,
May your True Love shine in the space in all our Hearts,

As the skipping stone of words ripple into being free us from the bondage of birth and death,
Into our truth, I AM Bliss,

O sweet and wise Krishna, player of soul-bearing flute melodies,
Your love expands to all,
O being beyond cause and effect, movement and non-movement,
Please reside in My Heart,

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
